John Bjorling grew up on a third-generation farm in central Illinois and played in the bar bands for a hobby. His sister was excited about becoming a Christian and invited him to church. There, in 1986, reading Philippians 2:8-11 alone one night after everyone else had left, he bowed his knee to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Who forgave his sins and has been his Lord ever since. Soon the bar lifestyle left, and in 1995 the Lord gave him a wonderful wife Tanya and a son, Timothy in '96. Being confirmed by the local church in his call to preach in 1997, the Lord led him to Bob Jones University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Theology. For twelve years John labored as Chaplain in the Galesburg Rescue Mission with his friend Dave Scholl. He enjoyed seeing people saved and delivered from their sinful lifestyles. With Timothy and Lindsay married, John and Tanya sensed the Lord leading them into the Pastoral ministry. Indeed, the Lord clearly led Trinity Baptist and God's servant together. John comes to North Carolina with a desire to serve his Lord and Savior, a calling to preach, and burden to see Trinity Baptist Church glorify God by fulfilling the great Commission. He delights to see souls saved and grow in their usefulness in the Kingdom of God.
